Lady Jane Grey, history knows her as the nine day Queen. Jane became the Queen of England by sheer coincidence and was later beheaded as Mary the 1st took to the throne. Jane was truly a victim of circumstance, used by power hungry men who in reality did not know what they were doing. In this painting I wanted to depict Jane as she was, kind and pious and very dedicated to her faith.
